Houthi leader: US, Israel seek enslaving Muslim Ummah

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi Ansarullah movement of Yemen, says the Israeli regime, the United States and some of the their allies seek to enslave the Muslim Ummah.

It is unfortunate that the rulers of certain Muslim countries act against the rules of Islam, the Houthi leader stated.

He made the remarks during an address to the Yemeni nation on Wednesday.

Houthi said the enemies of the Ummah are seeking to see Yemen and the whole region fragmented and divided so as to have the Arab resources at their service.

The policies of Saudi Arabia, he said, are the same as those of the United States and the Israeli regime that seek to crush the Muslim Ummah without paying any price.

Saudis, Emiratis and others are soldiers that are serving the interests of the US and Israel, Houthi said.

Saudi Arabia started its campaign against Yemen on March 26 in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring the fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, back to power.

To curb the increasing violence, a renewable seven-day ceasefire under the auspices of the United Nations was agreed between warring sides in Yemen and went into effect on December 15, but it has been repeatedly violated, mainly by the Saudi regime.

Blackwater mercenaries in Yemen

Referring to Blackwater mercenaries in Yemen, Houthi said the activities of the private security firm and the presence of its forces in Yemen indicate how Washington really defines human rights, freedom and democracy.

Earlier this month, scores of Blackwater mercenaries were killed in an attack by Yemeni forces in Bab-el-Mandeb area, western Yemen.

The US security services training company of Blackwater Worldwide, now known as Academi,  is one the most notorious private security firms in the world and is responsible for the killing of scores of civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

The Houthi leader also commented on the presence of Takfiri terrorist groups in the region, saying the terrorists stand with Washington, Tel Aviv and their allies, paving the way for their presence and control in the region while tarnishing the image of Islam.

Rights groups have censured the US, Britain and other Western countries for providing the Saudi forces with arms, which have been used in the war on Yemen.

The rising death toll and dire humanitarian situation in Yemen has raised concerns among human rights groups as Yemeni sources say more than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others injured since the start of the Saudi campaign.

The US wants the bloodshed in Yemen to continue, Houthi stated, adding that Washington is after occupying Yemen and enslaving its people. The war in Yemen is the “battle of dignity,” he said.
