Leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France have finally come to an agreement over the crisis in eastern Ukraine. The involved parties of the conflict have now agreed to put down arms and start withdrawing heavy artillery from February 15th. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has described the Minsk deal as a glimmer of hope for Ukraine. And the outcome of the talks have been closely monitored by thousands people who’ve been made homeless because of the ongoing crisis.

Around 150 refugees from the East have settled here, in this camp in a suburb of Kiev. Once a temporary shelter, the camp has now turned into the permanent home, where people have to start a new life.

Misha is getting used to the new school and friends. He left the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk in mid August after a massive shelling.

In the camp the refugees are provided with meals, free stay and the essentials. They cook, clean and manage the camp themselves

The same dream is chasing the 68-year-old refugee Myhailo. He can’t take his eyes off the TV, awaiting for the good news from negotiations.

According to the official figures around 800,000 of people have been made homeless because of the conflict. And today a glimer of hope has emerged that they could finally return home.
