Iranian wrestlers to participate in ISF Gymnasiade 2018
The Iranian students' national wrestling team will be in attendance at the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade 2018, which is scheduled to be held in Morocco later this year.
During a meeting between officials from the Wrestling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Student Sport Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran on Monday, the two sides reached an agreement to further promote mutual cooperation and interaction.
They also agreed to hold cadet freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments at national level, and work together to pick the fittest athletes for the forthcoming school sport event in Morocco.
The ISF Gymnasiade 2018 will kick off on May 2 in Marrakech, Morocco, and will wrap up on May 9.
The tournament’s main motto is “Education through sport”, and will gather young students from all around the world to experience the spirit of international competition, fair play, friendship and cultural diversity.
