Iranophobia in Hollywood
While Iranians are these days celebrating the anniversary of the 1979 Revolution, many have a clear memory of how the Revolution ruptured the close relations between the United States and the shah’s regime.
In those days, the Iranians were fearful of another Anglo-American coup against the elected Iranian government. The relations were cut, and, for almost four decades, the US government did almost anything it could to confront an independent Iran, which deepened the hostility.
However, hostilities are not just restricted to hard power. Animosities, when it comes to ‘soft power’ are pursued even more fiercely.
