US Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says the Republican Party is “rigged”, accusing the party leaders of plotting against his nomination for the presidential election.

“The bosses are trying to run it. It’s a rigged party. The bosses want to pick whoever they want to pick. The voters wouldn’t stand for it,” Trump told CNN on Monday.

He once again criticized the GOP primary process and said, “I’m leading in both votes and delegates. I’m leading by millions of votes. I’m leading by hundreds of delegates. What’s the purpose of going through the primary?”

Trump also referred to his rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich and said they could not block him from the party nomination.

He said the voters do not want Cruz and that he is running against two other GOP candidates.

“When you get 60 percent of the vote in some places, that’s a lot. I’m breaking 60 percent all of the time, and I’m going against two people,” he added.

Trump has repeatedly accused the Republican Party of trying to stop his nomination and maneuvering to cut his supporters out of the process.

He has also said the nominating system is stacked against him in favor of the candidates that have closer relations with the political parties.

Trump has expressed concern that the Republican Party might try to “steal” the nomination from him if he fails to win the 1,237 delegates necessary to clinch the nomination.

According to an Associated Press count, Trump has 996 delegates compared to Cruz’s 565 and Kasich’s 153.

Observers say that Trump may finish about 80 delegates short of the absolute majority, meaning that the Republican National Convention in July will start without a presumptive nominee.

In the Democratic front, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has also condemned the nomination system. He says his rival Hilary Clinton receives large contributions from Wall Street donors and wealthy corporations.
