Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla has denounced the Israeli military’s relentless ground and air strikes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, arguing that the United States and the Tel Aviv regime do not want massacres in the besieged coastal sliver to end.

Rodriguez took a swipe at the occupying Israeli regime for committing a massacre in Gaza without any intention of addressing the underlying causes of the war.

He also sharply criticized Washington’s continued support for Israel, stating that the backing has given the usurping regime a free hand to act with impunity.

The top Cuban diplomat reiterated his country’s condemnation of the ongoing genocide against Palestinian people in Gaza, lashing out at the US for allowing such a tragedy to occur through its unwavering support for Israel.

Cuba has always been a staunch supporter of Palestinian rights and sovereignty. Following the outbreak of the Gaza war, President Miguel Diaz-Canel led a popular march of thousands of Cubans to express their support for the Palestinian cause and condemn Israeli crimes.

The island country also joined South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as a Third State, along with Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Maldives, Egypt, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey and Chile.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after Palestinian resistance groups carried out a surprise retaliatory operation into the occupied territories.

The regime has been also enforcing a near-total siege on the coastal territory, which has reduced the flow of foodstuffs, medicine, electricity, and water into the Palestinian territory to a trickle.

So far, the regime has killed at least 40,099 Gazans, most of them women, children, and adolescents. Another 92,609 Palestinians have sustained injuries as well.
