Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has censured Israel for daily violations of the 60-day ceasefire agreement, asserting that the regime is not meeting its obligations.

Mikati said that Israel is failing to comply with its commitments under the 60-day ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, citing ongoing daily violations, during a press conference held alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.

"It’s been three weeks since the ceasefire agreement took effect on November 27 but we still see Israel violating it," Mikati noted.

He voiced concern over the daily breaches, stressing, "It happens several times a day, every day, which, needless to say, is alarming."

"Israel is failing to fulfill its commitment to withdraw its forces," he added, noting, "Our country has suffered, and continues to suffer greatly, from the Israeli aggression against it, which, for months now, has left human, economic, financial, social and environmental repercussions that are no longer hidden from anyone."

Mikati emphasized the importance of global pressure on Israel to cease its ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.

He also reiterated Lebanon’s dedication to upholding Syria's sovereignty, freedom, and territorial integrity amid the current crisis facing the country following the ouster of ex-president Bashar al-Assad's government.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon came into effect on the morning of November 27.

The ceasefire stipulates that Israeli forces are to gradually withdraw from south of the Blue Line, a temporary line drawn after the withdrawal of Israel from the country’s territory in 2000, while the Lebanese army is expected to deploy its troops in southern Lebanon within a maximum of 60 days.

Since the ceasefire was implemented, Lebanon has documented dozens of violations, conducting airstrikes, advancing troops, and executing mass demolitions of homes and buildings in the southern region even in areas previously inaccessible during ground operations against Hezbollah.

However, pictures and videos on social media showed Israeli tanks and bulldozers entering the center of Bani Hayyan town in Marjayoun on Wednesday for the first time. Also, Israeli forces destroyed homes in Tyre Harfa, al-Jbeen, and Sheheen within the Tyre district, with similar actions ongoing in border villages, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

On Tuesday, an Israeli drone strike in the southern Lebanese town of Majdal Zoun resulted in injuries of three individuals.

Moreover, Israeli settlers have crossed the border into Lebanon without permission, establishing encampments in areas designated as closed military zones by Israel in southern Lebanon, all while ceasefire violations continue.

“We have turned the page on the war. There are some Israeli violations, but we will soon stop them,” Mikati said earlier on Tuesday.
