Yemeni forces say they have successfully targeted an Israeli military base with a hypersonic ballistic missile.

In a statement, Yemen’s popular resistance movement Ansarullah said Tuesday that the missile hit the military base east of the occupied Yafo region (Tel Aviv).

“The missile successfully reached its target, bypassing both American and ‘Israeli’ interceptive defense systems,” Yemen’s military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said.

He said that Yemen’s armed forces carried out the operation “in support of the oppressed people of Palestine and Lebanon, and in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistances.”

Yemen’s armed forces, he said, will continue military operations against the regime of Israel “until the aggression is halted, the siege on Gaza is lifted, and the aggression against Lebanon is stopped.”

The Yemeni armed forces have carried out hundreds of missile strikes against targets lying across the Israeli  occupied territories as well as Israeli ships and those heading towards or away from the territories since October 2023.
