Nuclear chief says Iran is determined to continue to develop its nuclear program, despite the West’s efforts to cap the country’s heavy water production.

Iran’s nuclear spokesman says the country is currently producing enough heavy water inside the country, and is even exporting the excess quantities to eight countries.

The IAEA says Iran has accumulated slightly more than 130 tonnes of heavy water.

Salehi says the secondary part of the Arak heavy water reactor will become operational in three weeks.

The IAEA says Iran has stayed within the central limits on its nuclear activities in accordance with the JCPOA.

With the US building up its military presence in the Persian Gulf, Iran's ambassador to the UN says the country "will stand firmly against any act of aggression" even though it does not seek war.
