The Palestinian ambassador to the UN pleads for the Security Council to condemn the Israeli attack on thousands of starving Palestinians awaiting food relief that left more than 100 dead and hundreds injured.

The Iranian foreign minister says Tehran supports efforts by the UN chief to put an end to Israel's genocidal war in Gaza.

“This must stop. I reiterate my call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire,” the UN chief said.

In a letter to the UN’s chief, 300 figures have demanded the world body’s swift intervention to end Israel’s war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Guterres was addressing a summit in Egypt to discuss the ongoing war in Palestine.
