An Israeli airstrike hit yet another hospital in the Gaza Strip, killing a medic and wounding at least 10 people — all patients and medics.
According to the hospital's director, Dr. Suhaib al-Hamss, the regime’s forces attacked the northern gate of the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in the al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
The deadly attack on the grounds of the field hospital was the second on a Gaza health facility in three days.
Gaza City’s al-Ahli Hospital, a mainstay of Gaza’s broken healthcare system, came under attack by an Israeli warplane early Sunday.
The United Nations said a child patient with a reported head injury died while being evacuated.
In a Tuesday statement, Gaza’s Health Ministry said the Israeli regime intents “to inflict greater damage to the health care system” by attacking the enclave’s health facilities,
It said Israeli forces “threatens the treatment of the wounded and sick, even in hospital beds.”
“The occupation’s crimes against medical facilities will not cease as long as there is no firm stance from international and humanitarian institutions.”
In a separate statement, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement also denounced the deadly attack on the field hospital, saying it came as a result of “the international community’s complicity with the Zionist entity.”
It reiterated that “the incompetence and silence of international institutions” has encouraged the Israeli regime to “continue targeting hospitals and medical personnel and perpetrate crimes of genocide.”
Hospitals, protected under international humanitarian law, have repeatedly come under attack during Israel’s campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing since October 2023.
According to an updated toll released by the Health Ministry on Tuesday, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza has climbed above 51,000 people,
Since early Tuesday morning, Israeli forces have killed at least 13 Palestinians across Gaza, according to health officials.
