Palestinian filmmaker Hamdan Ballal, who’s the co-director of an Oscar-winning documentary, has been released after being detained by Israeli forces.

Ballal was attacked by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, before the regime’s soldiers took him into custody instead of his attackers. His detention has sparked outrage, with human rights organizations condemning the targeting of Palestinian journalists and filmmakers.
