Iran leader remarks

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the Americans have made miscalculations regarding Iran in recent decades. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remark while addressing a large crowd of people from Qom Province on the anniversary of the Qom uprising against the Pahlavi regime in 1978. He said, Iran during the Pahlavi era was a strong fortress for the US and that it served the interests of the Americans. The leader added, it was from that fortress the revolution emerged and prospered. Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the Americans did not understand but were deceived, fell behind, and became oblivious as things were wrested from their grasp. He underlined that the Americans have already been defeated in Iran and are trying to make up for this defeat which is manifested in their deep hatred toward the Iranians.

Iran-Iraq ties

The visiting Iraqi prime minister and the Iranian president in a joint press conference in Tehran have pledged to boost ties between the two neighbors in different fields. Mohammad Shia al-Sudani and Masoud Pezeshkian touched on a wide range of issues, including ways to enhance relations as well as other regional developments. Both leaders stressed the need for peace and stability throughout the region. Syria and the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza were other issues they discussed. During the presser, Pezeshkian said Sudani's visit is a turning point in Tehran-Baghdad relations. Sudani, said his trip to Tehran is in line with plans to boost relations and that his discussions with the Iranian president covered a whole lot of issues. The Iraqi premier arrived in the morning and was officially welcomed by Pezeshkian at Tehran's Sadabad palace. Sudani and his accompanying delegation are scheduled to meet other senior Iranian officials. 

US-Israel Gaza genocide

The US-Israeli genocide in Gaza continues unabated, with children being among main victims of the indiscriminate strikes across the besieged Palestinian strip. In Gaza’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, a five-day-old Palestinian child was killed along with his other family members after Israeli warplanes bombed a residential building there. Another child was killed in the Israeli bombing of a home in the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Children were also among the fatalities caused by Israeli air raids on other areas of Gaza. The Israeli aggression which began in October 2023, has so far claimed the lives of over 45-thousand 9-hundred people. More than 109-thousand others have also been injured. According to Gaza health officials, 70 percent of the victims are women and children.
