Western aggression against Yemen
The United States army claims responsibility for bombing multiple locations in Yemen. According to the US Army’s Central Command, Navy ships and aircraft have conducted a fresh attack against Yemen. At least twelve airstrikes have hit capital Sana’a and along the coast, with no reported casualties. Mohammed Abdu Salam, the official spokesman of Ansarullah, has affirmed that Yemen will persist in its defense against any acts of aggression. Salam emphasized Yemen’s firm commitment to supporting Gaza. This week, both Israel and the United States launched several attacks on Yemen, in an attempt to disrupt the blockade that the Yemeni military has imposed in the Red Sea.
Further sufferings for Gaza
The United Nations says Israeli strikes on and near hospitals in the Gaza Strip have pushed the healthcare system in the besieged territory toward total collapse. According to the UN human rights office, since October last year there have been at least 136 strikes on 27 hospitals and 12 medical facilities, causing significant casualties among doctors, nurses, medics and civilians. The strikes have caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure as well. The UN report adds that Israel’s claims about Gaza's hospitals being improperly used for military purposes contradict publicly available information. Also, UN human rights Chief Volker Turk says Gaza's hospitals have become a death trap. He's called for the release of all medical workers arbitrarily detained and the protection of hospitals. Turk also urged independent and credible investigations into hospital-related incidents.
Significance of media
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the ability to convey messages and report the realities outweighs military means when it comes to determining the winner. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in a message to a conference attended by senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting as well as president, Masoud Pezeshkian. The Leader emphasized the unique role that the media plays in the current world order noting that victory, today, is determined by the ability of the media to convey messages and narrate the realities on the ground. He called for greater precision, effort, and innovation in the Iranian media to be able to better cope with new challenges.
