‘Protecting Syria's integrity’

Iranian and Omani foreign ministers have held discussions on the repercussions of Israeli acts of aggression in the region. During a joint presser, the Iranian side condemned the US and Israeli attacks on Yemen and their occupation of Syrian territory. Abbas Araghchi called for an inclusive government in Syria and warned of a plot to reignite the Yemeni conflict. He said the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries must be protected. Araghchi also called for an immediate ceasefire and aid access in Gaza. He said Tehran and Muscat have close positions on the regional developments. His Omani counterpart also described Palestine as a fundamental issue for Muscat. Said Badr al-Busaidi said his government backs Palestinians’ push for freedom and independence. Al-Busaidi is the first high-ranking Omani official to visit Iran after the current Iranian administration took office in late July.

US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel is pushing ahead with its genocidal onslaught on Gaza, killing more Palestinians in its indiscriminate air and artillery strikes. In one of the latest strikes, a Palestinian was killed and several others wounded in the Israeli bombing of a house in Gaza City. Israeli warplanes bombed other parts of Gaza including the southern city of Rafah. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization says Al-Ahli Hospital and Al-Wafa Rehabilitation Hospital in Gaza City were hit by Israeli attacks and damaged. The WHO chief has called for the protection of hospitals and the release of Kamal Adwan hospital director who was abducted by Israeli forces on Friday. The winter has made the sufferings of Palestinians even more severe. In recent day, seven children have died due to cold in makeshift tents. More than 45,500 Palestinians have been killed so far since Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October last year.

Israeli attack on Gaza hospital

A major European rights group accuses Israeli forces of committing field killings and sexual abuse against Palestinians during their raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Gaza Strip. The Euro-Med Monitor says, based on testimonies gathered from survivors, Israeli troops carried out deliberate killings, field executions, as well as sexual and physical assaults on women and girls. The group has said Israeli troops forced women and girls to remove their clothing under threats, insults and offensive slurs. On Friday, Israeli forces destroyed and burned most sections of Kamal Adwan Hospital after shelling the building. During this operation, the regime troopers abducted dozens of individuals, including members of medical and service teams.
