In the US, the Christmas holiday season is in full swing. While many Americans are busy shopping, or spending time with their loved ones, there is one segment of the US society that is suffering, and that is the homeless.

Figures indicate that there has been a sharp increase in the number of homeless in the US compared to previous years.
