Yemeni Armed Forces ready for long war with Israel: Spokesman

Spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree

The Yemeni armed forces have conducted a fresh operation against the Israeli regime and in support of the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Thursday a drone had been fired at an Israeli military target in Tel Aviv, and successfully hit its target.

Saree stressed that the country stands ready for a long war with the Zionist enemy.

He said Yemen’s operations will not stop until the regime’s aggression on Gaza stops and its siege is lifted.

The drone attack followed Yemen's missile strike on the central part of the occupied Palestine.

That attack was carried out using two hypersonic Palestine-2 missiles and caused extensive damage, forcing settlers to take shelter.

The regime targeted Yemen with airstrikes concurrent with the Yemeni missile attack, leaving a trail of death and destruction.

The Israeli military said its warplanes targeted energy infrastructure, including an oil facility and two power plants in Sana’a.

The port of Hudaydah was also hit. Nine people were killed in Israel’s attacks on Yemen.

Earlier in the day, Saree said that the country's missile force carried out a targeted military operation, striking two Israeli-sensitive military sites in Tel Aviv with two Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missiles.

“The operation was carried out simultaneously with the Israeli aggression on civilian facilities in the capital, Sana'a, and the Hudaydah Governorate, including power stations, and our response came within the natural and legitimate response,” he noted.

He vowed that the forces will keep responding to Israel's "brutal aggression" by "continuing support and striking all hostile targets with appropriate weapons”, until the aggression is ended and the siege on Gaza is lifted.

Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni forces have taken measures to assert their support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, targeting Israeli vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Additionally, the Yemeni armed forces have launched several missile and drone attacks against Israeli-occupied territories, particularly focusing on Tel Aviv. They have pledged to continue these operations as long as Israel maintains its assaults on Gaza, signaling a potential for further escalation in the region.

In October, the US military unleashed B-2 stealth bombers to bomb Yemen in support of Israel. Since then, attacks against Yemen from Israel, the US and the UK have continued in a bid to halt the retaliatory attacks by Sana'a.
