US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The Israeli war machine is killing more Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip with unrelenting air and artillery strikes. The deadliest Israeli strike hit a UN-run school, killing at least 20 Palestinians and injuring many others. The school in the southern city of Khan Yunis housed displaced Palestinians. The Israeli military also bombed a residential bloc in the southern city of Rafah. Several houses were razed in the attack. There have also been fatalities in the regime’s airstrikes on Gaza City and al-Nuseirat refugee camp, both in the central Gaza Strip. Israeli attacks in the area also killed a journalist, bringing to nearly 200, the number of media personnel killed in Gaza since October 2023. The Israeli genocide in the territory has so far claimed nearly 45,000 lives, and injured more than 106,000 others.
Condemning Israeli crimes
Iran strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Palestinian refugee camps in Gaza, especially the attack on a UN-run school in Nuseirat that killed dozens of children. The foreign ministry spokesman described as shameful silence of international organizations and the UN Security Council in the face of the US-backed Israeli genocide. Esmaeil Baghaei urged an immediate global action to prosecute Israeli leaders for committing such heinous crimes and stopping the genocide in Gaza. He called on the International Criminal Court to enforce the arrest warrant issued against Israeli officials for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas also condemned the regime’s deliberate targeting of schools and refugee camps, holding the US accountable as Isarel’s main military supporter. Hamas urged the international community to take action against Israeli bloodshed in Gaza.
US-Taiwan military ties
The US has delivered the first batch of advanced Abraham battle tanks to Taiwan as the Asian island continues to boost its military capacity. The Taiwanese defense ministry said the 38 tanks are the first of 109 tanks the island requested from the US in 2019. According to the ministry, the tanks have been moved to an army base for training. Taiwanese media have reported that these are the first new tanks to be delivered to the Island in 30 years. The US supplies most of Taiwan’s military hardware, despite repeated condemnations from China. Beijing considers Taiwan as part of its territory based on the one-china principle. It has also warned that it is prepared to use military force to keep its territory united.
