Syria's fight against terrorism
The Syrian Army says reinforcements have arrived in the northern Hama countryside while terrorists are fleeing en masse. It said Syrian-Russian warplanes have intensified their strikes on terrorist positions, killing and wounding dozens of them. A gathering of terrorists was also targeted in the vicinity of the Aleppo University. Syrian media say around 1,000 terrorists have been killed in three days of battles. Terrorists, meanwhile, stormed the city of Tell Rifaat after heavy attacks. The city had been controlled by US-led Kurdish forces. The so-called Syrian Democratic Forces says the terrorist offensive was organized by Turkey and is aimed at completely occupying Syria.
Iran's support for Syria
The Iranian foreign minister has arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, as the Arab country grapples with resurgent Takfiri terrorism. Abbas Araghchi will meet his Syrian counterpart Bassam al-Sabbagh and President Bashar al-Assad. Prior to his visit, Araghchi said he would also deliver Iran’s message of support for Syria against terrorist groups and Israel. The top Iranian diplomat added that Iran does not make a distinction between the two. Araghchi said terrorist and Takfiri groups are continuing the same path that the US and Israel started months ago. He stressed that the Syrian army and resistance groups would continue to relentlessly fight terrorist groups and would eventually emerge victorious.
US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More civilians lose their lives in Gaza as Israel’s unrelenting air and artillery strikes continue to pound residential areas across the blockaded territory. The latest Israeli strikes have killed at least 47 Palestinians and injured over 100 others. This includes casualties following an airstrike on a house in Gaza’s northern Tel al-Zaatar neighborhood, while another attack on the Al-Mawasi camp in the south killed two children and injured their mother. Meanwhile, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has suspended aid operations at Gaza’s southern Kerem Abu Salem border crossing, citing security concerns. More than 44,400 people have so far been killed and over 105,000 injured since the US-Israeli genocide began in October 2023.
