Resistance movements condemn Israeli killing of Hezbollah spokesman in Beirut

Hezbollah's media relations official, Hajj Muhammad Afif, was martyred on Sunday as a result of the bombing of a building in Ras al-Nabaa in the capital, Beirut.

Resistance movements have strongly condemned the Israeli regime for killing Hezbollah media relations chief Mohammed Afif in an Israeli strike in central Beirut.

The Israeli strike killed Afif and three others and wounded 14 in the commercial district of Lebanon’s capital on Sunday.

“He was not intimidated by the enemy’s threats to kill him, he faced them with great courage and with his famous phrase: ‘The bombing did not frighten us, so how can the threats frighten us?'” Hezbollah said of Afif.

“With his brilliant pen and courageous positions, he drew the letters of glory and victories, and instilled terror in the souls of the enemy,” the group said.

Hamas said in a statement, “We mourn Hajj Muhammad Afif the media relations official in Hezbollah, who ascended to the heavens, along with a group of his brothers, following a treacherous air raid carried out by the Zionist enemy’s aircraft, on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.”

“While we strongly condemn the Zionist enemy for committing this heinous crime, we affirm that the assassination of a political media figure will not silence the voice of Resistance, but rather reveals the depth of the moral abyss in which the occupation is trapped and its narrowness with the word of the Resistance, just as its settlements, sites and barracks are narrowing with its (the Resistance's) missiles and drones,” Hamas said.

“We affirm that this criminal policy pursued by the terrorist occupation will not deter the free resistance forces from their goal of breaking the will of this fascist occupier and removing it from our land and our holy sites,” the group stated.

Hamas said Commander Afif “represented a strong and defiant voice of resistance, troubling the occupation and its failed system, and exposing its crimes, and striking at the heart of its false narratives and malicious propaganda.”

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad also extended “deepest condolences and congratulations to the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, may Allah protect him, and to the brothers in the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, for the martyrdom of the fighter brother Muhammad Afif, the head of media relations in Hezbollah, along with a number of his brothers, in a treacherous zionist aggression on the Lebanese capital Beirut, this Sunday afternoon.”

“This sinful targeting is a continuation of the enemy's approach to committing massacres and violating all humanitarian and moral standards in Lebanon and Palestine, and an outlet for its blind hatred and the satisfaction of the Nazi desire for revenge and the spirit of crime on which this usurping entity was raised,” it said.

“We are fully confident that this barbaric aggression will only increase the brilliance and steadfastness of the resistance,” Hamas said.

Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades in the Islamic Resistance of Iraq said “Martyr Hajj Mohammed Afif was a unique media icon who carried the banner of resistance in the face of Zionist propaganda.”

“He exposed Zionist crimes, advocated for the causes of the just, and embodied, with his actions and sacrifices, the essence of true jihadist media. He was not just a media professional; rather, he was a leader on the battlefield of words and a champion of principles, defending the rights of oppressed peoples for freedom and dignity.”

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine extended “its deepest condolences and sympathy to the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, the great fighter brother Sayyed Naim Qassem, and to the entire leadership of the party, for the martyrdom of the head of the Media Relations Department, the leader Hajj Muhammad Afif, in a treacherous Zionist bombing that targeted a building in the Ras al-Naba'a area of Beirut city.”

Afif was “distinguished by his great bravery and public presence in defending the path of resistance and spreading its positions through press conferences despite the occupation's threats to assassinate him,” Front said.

“The martyr leader has always been a symbol of steadfastness in positions and absolute belief in the resistance's ability to achieve victory, armed with an iron will in facing the Zionist entity and its plans, possessing deep and profound media acumen that always exposed and debunked the occupation's narratives and lies, revealed the capabilities of the resistance, and shed light on the party’s political and field positions during the battle,” it stated.
