Israeli assassination campaign
Another Israeli assassination in Lebanon. The latest victim, the head of Hezbollah media relations office, Mohammad Afif. The Hezbollah official was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Ras al-Naba’a district in central Beirut, near the French embassy and a university. Another four people were killed in the attack. Israeli strikes have also pounded Beirut’s southern district of Dahiyeh. The regime also carried out deadly strikes in other areas across Lebanon, including the southern city of Merjeyoun and the eastern Bekaa Valley. The death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon since October last year has surpassed 3,450. Nearly 14,700 others have also been injured.
Israeli massacres in Gaza
It’s another deadly day for Palestinians in Gaza as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more air and artillery attacks. Over 70 Palestinians were killed after Israeli warplanes bombed a residential building in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. Women and children are among the casualties. Hamas has condemned the attack, saying that it shows Israel’s campaign of ethnic cleansing. It urged the international community to take action. Gaza health officials say 111 people were killed in Sunday’s attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip. This raises Palestinians’ death toll in the besieged territory to over 43,800.
Islamophobia in Europe
Rights groups have accused political leaders in Europe as well as Western media outlets of fuelling Islamophobia by falsely portraying the recent violence in Amsterdam as anti-Semitic hate crimes.
