US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israel continues with its genocidal onslaught on Gaza, killing more Palestinians in its indiscriminate air and artillery strikes. According to the Gaza health ministry, the latest Israeli strikes have killed at least 39 people across the besieged territory in a matter of 24 hours. All areas across the blockaded strip are being bombed repeatedly. Even refugee camps, hospitals and facilities like schools that house displaced people are not spared by the Israeli regime. Now, the Palestinian death toll since last year has risen to over 43,500. The UN says over 70-percent of those killed are women and children. Meanwhile, a committee of global food security experts has warned that famine is imminent in northern parts of the Gaza Strip. The independent Famine Review Committee called for immediate action within days to avert the danger and alleviate the situation that Gazans are facing.

Israel killing journalists

Israeli forces have killed yet another Palestinian journalist in the Gaza Strip as the regime pushes on with its onslaught on the territory. Gaza’s Government Media Office said the journalist was a local radio broadcaster. Khaled Abu Zir’s death raises the number of journalists and media workers killed by Israel in Gaza to 184 since October 2023. The media office called on the international community to hold the regime to account for its crimes against Palestinians, especially journalists. Last week, the United Nations Secretary General Anthony Guterres slammed the killing of journalists by Israel as unacceptable.

Yemen downs US drone

The Yemeni army has released footage of downing a US air force MQ-9 aircraft over the country’s Al-Jawf Governorate. The footage shows the moment the drone was targeted and the aftermath of the operation. According to the Yemeni army, this is the twelfth such aircraft being downed since Sana’a started operations in retaliation for Israeli genocide in Gaza. Yemen says its operations will only stop if the regime ends its blockade and onslaught on Gaza, and its aggression against Lebanon. Yemeni people have also been holding weekly nationwide protests in support of the people of Palestine and the resistance axis in the region for over a year now.
