Reactions to Safieddine martyrdom 

Reactions are pouring in after Hezbollah confirmed the martyrdom of head of its executive council, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, in a recent Israeli attack. Iran’s president said in a message that his martyrdom will open a new chapter in resistance against the Zionist occupiers. Masoud Pezeshkian said the martyrdom of Hezbollah’s leadership will not stop its growth, but make it stronger. The Iranian Foreign Ministry also condemned his assassination as an unforgivable crime, stressing that the U-S and Israel’s other allies are directly responsible for it. The Hamas resistance movement stressed that assassination of resistance leaders will not extinguish the spirit of resistance and the determination to confront the Zionist entity. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad said the resistance in Lebanon is unbreakable and will continue to confront the enemy. The Iraqi resistance also said retaliation for Israel’s cowardly aggression is inevitable. Yemen’s President Mahdi al-Mashat said Safieddine’s martyrdom will only boost determination and dedication of resistance fighters.

Hezbollah retaliation 

The Hezbollah resistance movement continues to confront invading Israeli forces while striking the regime’s military sites and settlements with rockets and drones. Hezbollah announced that during its operations, it has shot down three Israeli Hermes 450 drones and one Hermes 900 drone. It added that its fighters have also destroyed 28 Merkava tanks and 4 military bulldozers. Hezbollah fighters fought off Israeli forces trying to infiltrate Lebanon in various locations, forcing them to retreat, while bombarding the regime’s support forces in the occupied lands. The movement also fired rockets at gatherings of Israeli soldiers in various areas, causing casualties. Hezbollah Air Defense Units confronted several Zionist warplanes with surface-to-air missiles and forced them to leave Lebanon. The movement fired a squadron of attack drones at an Israeli military base in southern Haifa. Hezbollah’s missiles also hit Israel’s Military Industries Company on the suburbs of Tel Aviv.

Gaza genocide rages on 

More Palestinians fall victim to the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, as the regime’s indiscriminate air and artillery strikes continue to pound the blockaded territory. In one of the deadliest attacks, at least six civilians, including a doctor and a nurse, were killed in an airstrike targeting the Jabaliya refugee camp and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza. An Israeli air raid on Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, also left several fatalities. To the southern Gaza, an Israeli drone strike on a group of Palestinian civilians killed at least two and injured several others near the city of Rafah. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees also said one of its employee was killed in a strike on a vehicle in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis. The Israeli aggression against Gaza began in October last year. Since then, more than 42,700 civilians have been killed and over 100,000 others injured. Authorities say the Israeli onslaught has destroyed over a quarter of a million houses and most of the territory’s roads.
