A senior official of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned Israel’s relentless attacks on the northern Gaza Strip, saying the occupying regime is after "exterminating and displacing" the Palestinians.

Osama Hamdan, who is Hamas’ representative in Lebanon and also a member of the group’s political bureau, made the remarks on Tuesday.

Israeli forces have increased the intensity of the attacks on northern Gaza, preventing trucks loaded with humanitarian aid from entering the besieged area.

Hamdan said the Israeli regime is committing “organized crimes” against civilians in northern Gaza, adding that the occupying regime forces are preventing the entry of aid into the blockaded territory in order to put pressure on Palestinians.

He also noted that Israel’s rejection of all requests for the entry of aid into northern Gaza has led to the death of hundreds of sick and injured people there, stressing that the crossings, which the occupiers claim are safe, have become a trap for targeting civilians.

The Hamas official also stated that Israeli crimes are being carried out with the full US support, adding that the one-month deadline from Washington for Israeli forces to consider allowing aid in confirms it is giving it a deadline to commit more crimes.

Hamdan further denounced the international community’s silence on Israeli crimes, stressing that the credibility of the international community and its institutions is being tested on the charters they were founded on.

He also called for a UN Security Council meeting to put pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing aggression, emphasizing that only Palestinians can decide the details of the day after the war.

Since October 2023, the US-Israeli genocide across the besieged Gaza Strip has killed over 42,700 Palestinians and injured nearly 100,000 others.

Earlier this year, the United Nations' top court ordered the Israeli regime to take all measures to prevent genocide in Gaza. Till now, however, all international efforts to stop the US-backed genocidal war on Gaza have been to no avail.
