Israeli massacre in Beit Lahia

The Israeli military continues its genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza, particularly in the northern areas, where the regime has laid a siege. Casualties continue to rise from the recent Israeli airstrike in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, where rescuers are still recovering bodies from the rubble. Over 90 people, mainly women and children, were killed, with many more injured. This brings the total Palestinian death toll to over 42,600, with nearly 100,000 others injured since October 7 last year. Reacting to the new massacre, the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, said that international inaction has emboldened Israel to escalate its crimes, particularly in the north. The movement urged Arab and Muslim nations, as well as the UN, to take decisive action to halt the genocide.

Gaza humanitarian crisis

The United Nations calls for the opening of crossing points into northern Gaza. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA, reported that it cannot conduct a humanitarian operation effectively without open routes. It stressed that multiple routes must open for critical supplies to reach those in need. UN officials have urged Israeli authorities to facilitate access to northern Gaza so that those trapped under rubble can be rescued. Palestinians in northern Gaza have been without proper access to food, water, or essential supplies for over 15 days.

Hezbollah retaliatory operation

The resistance movement, Hezbollah, continues to launch strikes at Israeli positions in retaliation for the regime's aggression against Lebanon. The resistance group says it fired rockets at Israeli troops in the villages of Markaba and Odaisseh inside Lebanese territory near the southern border. It also launched a large rocket salvo at an Israeli army base near the northern occupied town of Safed. Rockets were also fired at Haifa in northern occupied Palestinian territories, setting off sirens there. The resistance movement earlier hit Kfar Kila, Aita al-Shaab and Zarit settlements as well as Beit Hillel barracks. Hezbollah says it has killed around 60 Israeli soldiers and wounded another 500 during the recent fighting inside Lebanon.
