Hezbollah MP: We’re prepared for any scenario

Amin Sherri, Lebanese lawmaker representing the country’s Hezbollah resistance movement

A Lebanese lawmaker representing Hezbollah says the resistance movement is prepared to face “any scenario” amid the Israeli regime’s ongoing deadly escalation against the country.

“We act on our national duty, despite the regime’s ongoing threats against the parliamentarians,” Amin Sherri, who is a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, said on Wednesday.

He insisted that Hezbollah’s leadership structure was not suffering from any rifts, despite the regime’s assassination of the movement’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in late September.

The movement keeps targeting the occupied Palestinian territories with retaliatory strikes at an increasing pace, the lawmaker noted, adding that it was “rigorously” implementing the replacement arrangements that had been agreed by the resistance leader prior to his martyrdom.

Sherri, meanwhile, asserted that the Israeli regime had failed to realize the goals that it has been seeking to materialize through its ground attacks against Lebanon.

The official also debunked allegations of existence of military commanders or servicemen within civilian structures in the country that the regime has been using extensively to try to justify its deadly attacks.

The regime escalated its aggression against the country last October, prompting Hezbollah to launch hundreds of retaliatory operations against the occupied territories and the Israeli forces trying to invade Lebanon.

Most recently, the movement ambushed the Israeli forces trying to invade two border villages in the south, killing at least seven of the troops and wounding scores of others.

Later, its fighters targeted two Merkava tank in al-Labouneh Heights in western Lebanon with guided missiles, causing the vehicles to catch fire and leaving its occupants dead and injured.
