Israel Lebanon aggression

Israel has launched fresh airstrikes on Lebanon, including on a Palestinian refugee camp in the northern part of the Arab country, causing more deaths and destruction. The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas says several of its commanders and their family members were killed in the regime’s strike. In southern Lebanon, Israeli forces also issued evacuation orders for Martyr Salah Ghandour Hospital in the city of Bent Jebeil. Reports say the hospital was targeted while medical staff were evacuating the patients. The Israeli warplanes also continued targeting different areas of Beirut, leaving more civilians dead and injured. Meanwhile the Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah fended off Israeli forces trying to advance through the southern Lebanese town of al-Adaisseh. Hezbollah also carried out retaliatory drone strikes, targeting Israeli forces in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Civilian killings 'unacceptable'

The UN Secretary-General has sounded alarm over the rising number of civilian casualties in Israeli attacks on Lebanon, calling it “totally unacceptable.” Antonio Guterres has been a vocal opponent of the Israeli crimes in Gaza and Lebanon that recently prompted the regime to declare him a persona non-grata, a move that was condemned by UN member states. The latest remarks on Lebanon came as Israel continues its bombing campaign in the Arab country. Israel has conducted over a dozen airstrikes on residential areas since late Friday despite international outcry. Lebanese officials have denounced Israel’s indiscriminate attacks on civilians and emergency teams. The health minister says the country's healthcare system is teetering on the brink of collapse. According to the ministry, more than two thousand people have been killed so far, including 127 children and 261 women, since last October.

Iran warns Israeli regime

Iran's foreign minister has called for international efforts to stop Israeli crimes in Gaza and Lebanon. Abbas Araghchi issued the call after he arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus. He said Israel’s ongoing crimes in the region hamper efforts for achieving a ceasefire. Araghchi said the regime only understands the language of force. He added that Iran has been continuously discussing the latest developments in West Asia with its regional allies such as Lebanon and Syria. Araghchi also sat down with his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh. The two top diplomats discussed various regional and international issues. The Iranian foreign minister traveled to Syria after a trip to Beirut to discuss Israeli aggression against Lebanon. While in Beirut, Araghchi issued a stern warning to Israel, cautioning the regime against any military action against Iran. Araghchi said Tehran’s response to any further Israeli aggression against Iran will be harsher than before.
