British oil tanker attacked by Yemen's missiles, drones in Red Sea

Yemen says its armed forces have targeted a British oil vessel with cruise and ballistic missiles during a series of operations in the Red Sea on Tuesday.

The country’s armed forces said in a statement that the oil tanker—CORDELIA MOON— was severely damaged after being struck with “eight ballistic and cruise missiles, a drone, and a drone boat.”

A British maritime agency also confirmed the attack on the oil tanker, saying it was hit by a sea drone, puncturing a ballast tank.

Another vessel, MARATHOPOLIS, which is registered and sailing under the flag of Malta, was struck in a separate operation in the Indian Ocean with a cruise missile, Yemen said.

The third operation, it said, targeted the same vessel again “for violating the decision prohibiting entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.”

“The ship was hit by a drone, resulting in a direct hit.”

Yemen said its armed forces will continue “to carry out military operations and impose a naval blockade on the Israeli enemy.”

“These operations will not cease until the aggression on Gaza stops, the siege is lifted, and the aggression on Lebanon ends.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Yemen conducted two operations against strategic positions in the Israeli-occupied territories. Yemen said its aerospace units struck a vital target near Tel Aviv, using a homegrown and long-range Yafa kamikaze drone.
