Iran’s top general: Martyrdom of Resistance leaders won’t stop fight against Zionism

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri says the martyrdom of Resistance fighters and commanders will not stop the struggle against arrogant powers and the global Zionist system.

Major General Baqeri made the remarks in a message on Monday, as he paid tribute to senior commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Abbas Nilforushan.

Nilforushan was assassinated along with Secretary-General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a number of residential buildings in Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh on September 27.

The top Iranian commander offered his condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, his family and comrades in the Axis of Resistance, particularly the IRGC servicemen, on the martyrdom of the late Iranian military adviser.

He stated that Brigadier General Nilforushan devoted his life to serving the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s Islamic establishment, and succeeded senior commander of the IRGC Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who was killed in an Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on April 1.

“The flag that the martyrs of al-Quds have hoisted for the liberation of Palestine and Muslim nations from the grip of global arrogance and wicked international Zionism will never fall to the ground after the martyrdom of Resistance commanders and fighters,” Major General Baqeri said.

He stated that the martyrdom of Resistance forces will become a source of awareness and awakening, will raise the morale of Resistance factions to press ahead with the fight against arrogant powers, and will beef up their military might.
