Army cmdr. warns Israel: Wait for Iran, Resistance Front response to Nasrallah’s assassination

Chief Commander of the Iranian Army Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi speaks to reporters on Monday.

The chief commander of the Iranian Army calls on Israel “to be ready,” saying that the regime should await the Islamic Republic and the regional Axis of Resistance’s response to its recent assassination of Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

“Sayyed Hassan’s blood will definitely destroy the Zionist regime and its masters," Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi told reporters on Monday.

He described the assassination as a measure taken by “Zionists in line with their wrongful materialistic thinking,” through which “they thought they would succeed.”

“They are, however, deepening their own grave,” the commander added, asserting, “Today, the Zionists are moving farther towards demise.”

“Our experience shows that when the blood of a martyr is shed, it serves a force that is thousands of times more formidable than the martyr himself,” he said, asserting that Hezbollah would enhance its capabilities even further from now on.

The Lebanese resistance movement’s leader was martyred on Friday during intense Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut, which took place as part of the regime’s ongoing escalation against the country.

A day after the assassination, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the resistance front would deal more crushing blows to the "dilapidated and decaying body" of the Zionist regime following the atrocity.

President Masoud Pezeshkian also vowed on Sunday that the atrocity would not go unanswered and that it was imperative for the Islamic Republic to give a “decisive” response to the criminal regime.

'Israel miscalculation'

Mousavi, meanwhile, addressed the Israeli regime’s and its allies’ attempts at portraying the atrocity as a “victory.”

He described such efforts as “psychological operation” aimed at pleasing “their masters and own people” and depicting the assassination as an “achievement made by the criminal [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu.”

Such efforts were also “based on their materialistic standards” and “calculations,” the commander said, noting, however, that the calculations have proven to be wrong for years.
