'Ugly monsters': Netizens slam Biden's defense of Nasrallah's assassination by Israel

US President Joe Biden’s statement on the assassination of Hezbollah leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah by the Israeli regime has confirmed the American complicity in the terrorist crime.

Nasrallah and his close associates were targeted with US-made bunker-busting bombs in the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday in yet another blatant act of terrorism by the Tel Aviv regime in Lebanon.

US government spokespersons were quick to distance Washington from the attack, but Biden’s statement on Sunday bore testimony to the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu had received a stamp of approval for the crime during his recent visit to New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

Biden's remarks calling Nasrallah’s assassination a "measure of justice" enraged people who were already outraged by the attack on residential buildings in the Lebanese neighborhood of Dahiyeh.

Social media users slammed the US president for defending the Zionist terrorist crime and pointed to his government’s complicity in the Tel Aviv regime’s terrorism in both Lebanon and Gaza.

Many highlighted the unchecked arms shipments, including US-made bunker buster bombs, to Tel Aviv since October 2023, accounting for billions of dollars of American taxpayers’ money.

Some termed Biden’s statement reckless and provocative, warning it could escalate tensions amid the Israeli-American genocidal war on Gaza that has already claimed more than 42,600 lives in one year.

Assal Rad, a historian and author based in the US, criticized the US government for allowing the Israeli regime to continue its bombardments in Lebanon, citing a New York Times report that suggested that the US was "powerless" in front of the Tel Aviv regime.

“This framing from NYT makes it sound like the world’s biggest powers are powerless, but Biden has enormous leverage. Letting Israel do whatever it wants is a choice,” wrote Assad.

Sarah, an X user, pointed to the “2,000-pound bunker buster bombs” used by the Israeli regime in southern Lebanon, saying Biden and Kamala Harris are complicit in the ongoing massacres.

Meanwhile, Twitter user Khalissee quoted Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov slamming Biden’s statement saying “his words about the correctness of killing the Hezbollah leader demonstrate the US approach to conflicts.”

“Remember how Hillary Clinton... was delighted and laughed... Or Madeleine Albright, who commented on the deaths caused by US aggression against Iraq, said: well, yes, 400,000 died, but it was worth it,” she quoted him as saying.

An X account named MG Mughal was also vocal in condemning US-backed Israeli war crimes in Lebanon and Gaza.

“The world must stand up to these bullies... Ugly monsters... The good part is, they’re on the edge of their worst fall but totally unaware... Of course, God's justice is the best one... Yeppp,” he wrote.

Motasem A Dalloul, a Gaza-based journalist, also rapped Biden for calling the assassination of the Lebanese resistance leader “a measure of justice for his victims.”

“Biden, who claims he is seeking an end to Israeli aggression, calls Israel’s use of bunker buster bombs that destroy high rises in Lebanon ‘a measure of justice,’” he said while sharing an image of the devastating airstrikes in Lebanon that reduced buildings to rubble.

Ben Norton, a prominent journalist, took to X to call out US complicity in the ongoing massacres in Lebanon and Gaza.

“These US war criminals are sponsoring a colonial genocide in Gaza and a war of aggression on Lebanon... The Hague has accused Israeli officials of crimes against humanity, and their crimes would not be possible without the weapons and support provided by the Biden administration,” he stated.

Independent British journalist Richard Medhurst labeled both Israel and the US as “exporters of terrorism,” saying most people on earth consider them “violent exporters of terrorism.”

“Would you accept someone wiping out Biden or Netanyahu, along with several residential buildings? Westerners are so arrogant to think only they can do this. Where is the line drawn?” he wrote.

Jill Stein, an American Green Party politician and presidential candidate, underscored the role of Biden and Harris in enabling Israeli genocidal actions in Lebanon.

“Yesterday the US sent another $8.7 billion to Israel. Today, Netanyahu said there's a ‘missile in every kitchen’ in Lebanon and bombed a whole housing block in Beirut…,” she wrote.

“Biden and Harris aren’t ‘working tirelessly for a ceasefire’—they’re aiding and abetting mass murder and genocide.”
