Missile fired from Lebanon lands near occupied al-Quds

Frame grab from a video shows the moment a missile fired from the direction of Lebanon makes impact near the holy city of al-Quds in the occupied West Bank.

At least one missile fired from the direction of Lebanon has landed near the holy city of al-Quds in the occupied West Bank amid the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah’s ongoing retaliation against the Israeli regime’s escalated aggression on the country.

The projectile struck an illegal settlement in the city on Saturday, causing a fire when Israeli authorities had gathered in the area to assess the damage from a previous fire.

The Israeli military confirmed the development. The regime’s media outlets said the missile struck a building near al-Quds, adding that settlements in the area suffered a power outage.

The development marked the first time, when a projectile fired from Lebanon had made impact near al-Quds in response to the Israeli escalation.

Separately, unidentified aerial objects were detected flying over the settlement of Nahariya in the occupied territories’ extreme north, causing sirens in the area to go off.

Hezbollah has been conducting numerous retaliatory operations against the occupied Palestinian territories since October, when the regime intensified its deadly attacks on Lebanon.

Throughout Saturday, the movement staged at least eight such operations, including against the Qatsrin settlement in Syria’s Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Earlier stages of the retaliation have seen Hezbollah launching a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv and striking several targets around the city of Haifa in the northern part of the occupied territories.

Also on Saturday, the Israeli regime kept up its escalation, claiming the lives of at least 33 people and wounding 195 others throughout Lebanon, according to the country’s health ministry.

A day earlier, Israeli warplanes began launching dozens of airstrikes against the Lebanese capital Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The attacks led to the assassination of Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, besides causing hundreds of other casualties.
