Israeli attacks on Lebanon expose 'Nazi nature' of Zionist regime: Hamas

A photo by Reuters shows smoke billowing following Israeli bombardment of civilian and residential areas across various parts of Lebanon on September 23, 2024.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says the Israeli regime's latest intensified wave of strikes against southern and eastern Lebanon reflects the "Nazi nature" of the Zionist regime.

"The Zionist terrorist aggression against Lebanon and the brotherly Lebanese people continues, which has led to the ascent of hundreds of martyrs and injured civilians since this morning," Hamas said in a statement on Monday.

"We affirm in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas that this wide-ranging barbaric aggression is a war crime, and it reflects the Nazi nature of the Zionist enemy, as well as the predicament that Netanyahu is experiencing due to his futile policies that refuse to halt the genocide war in the Gaza Strip," the statement read.

The statement came on the heels of the Israeli regime's intensified bombardment of southern and eastern Lebanon, which killed at least 272 civilians and wounded over 1000 others over the past few hours.

The Lebanese health ministry reported many women, children, and paramedics are among the dead.

The large-scale Israeli strikes follow retaliatory operations by the Hezbollah resistance movement against several Israeli towns, an airbase, and an arms factory near Haifa, which forced around 300,000 Israelis to run to shelters.

Hezbollah intensified retaliatory attacks after the Israeli regime detonated thousands of communication devices in Lebanon and launched missile strikes on the south, killing dozens, including a senior Hezbollah commander.

The Lebanese resistance movement says it has launched dozens of rockets in its latest retaliatory attacks on a number of Israeli military positions, adding that all of the attacks were carried out in response to the regime's attacks on southern Lebanon as well as in support of the people of Gaza.

The Hamas statement also demanded The Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC) take the necessary actions to arrest the senior authorities of the Zionist entity as "war criminals".

The Palestinian resistance group said that it holds the US administration an accomplice and directly responsible for the relentless brutal massacres in the region.

"And we hold the American administration fully responsible for these continuous massacres committed by the occupation and its Nazi Zionist regime in occupied Palestine and Lebanon, as this aggression would not have occurred without open American support and cover."

Hamas called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) "to take urgent action to stop the Zionist aggression against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples."

Elsewhere in the statement, Hamas urged the regional and Islamic organizations and platforms "to make decisive decisions in confronting the occupying Zionist entity, particularly by boycotting and isolating it internationally as a rogue terrorist entity."

Israel’s indiscriminate strikes on Monday also claimed the lives of more women and children in the besieged Gaza Strip, raising the genocidal war’s death toll to over 41,450.
