Iran says the successful launch of its new research satellite serves as a clear response to the unwise actions of those irrational powers imposing sanctions on the country.

In the early hours of Saturday, Iran successfully launched and put into orbit the domestically-developed Chamran 1 research satellite despite a fresh round of sanctions imposed by the United States and the EU troika on Tehran over the alleged supply of missiles to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine.

The satellite was put in orbit at an altitude of 550 kilometers above the Earth’s surface onboard a homegrown Qaem-100 space launch vehicle (SLV).

In a post on his X account on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani extended his congratulations to all noble Iranians, scientists and researchers on the successful launch of the satellite.

He added that Iran is a “logical and powerful” country that favors constructive interaction with the world.

The Iranian spokesman advised the sanctions enforcers to “rationalize their behavior and speech.”

Several hours into the launch, the Iranian research satellite sent its first signals.

Weighing approximately 60 kilograms, the primary mission of the research satellite is to test hardware and software systems for orbital maneuver technology validation.

Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the United States and its Western allies would be better off changing their “failed” sanctions policy toward the Islamic Republic.
