Hezbollah has launched a string of strikes against Israeli military positions in the north, hitting designated targets precisely, the Lebanese resistance group says.
In a brief statement, the movement said it shelled the al-Malikiyah military outpost on Thursday afternoon, inflicting casualties on Israeli forces.
The resistance group also targeted Matzuva and Rosh HaNikra kibbutzes in Western Galilee with barrages of rockets.
Hezbollah said the operations were in response to Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese regions, particularly a drone strike on a motorcycle on the al-Bayada road in southwestern Lebanon on Wednesday evening.
The attack killed the two riders, identified as 17-year-old Ali Alian and his 12-year-old brother Ishaq Alian, both from al-Bayada near the port of Tyre, according to Lebanese military sources.
Hezbollah also struck Israeli artillery positions north of the Ain Yaaqoub settlement with several rockets, resulting in “direct hits”, plus the Bayyad Blida post.
On Thursday, Israeli warplanes attacked the outskirts of Yaroun village and a house in Maroun al-Rass village. Israeli artillery units also shelled the outskirts of Alma al-Shaab village.
Firefighters battled fires in northern occupied territories, sparked by barrage of rockets fired from Lebanon.
They attended several blazes after projectiles hit the Western Galilee region near the border with Lebanon.
The Israeli military said a barrage of some 15 projectiles crossed from Lebanon.
On Wednesday, an Israeli reservist soldier was wounded in a Hezbollah anti-tank guided missile attack from Lebanon.
It came as barrages of around 100 rockets from Lebanon pounded areas in the northern side of the occupied lands.
The 39-year-old reservist, a member of Kibbutz Dan’s local security team, was taken to hospital in Haifa, the Israeli military said.
