Israeli military forces have attacked another school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip’s Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 14 people, with many still trapped under the rubble, officials say.
Mahmud Bassal, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense agency said several women and children were among the victims of the attack on the Al-Jawni school in central Gaza.
"The number of martyrs has risen to 14,” he said.
Two staff of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) were also among those killed.
Al-Jawni was sheltering about 5,000 displaced people when it was hit Wednesday, according to Gaza’s media office.
The school has been hit at least five times in more than 11 months of war, Bassal said.
When Israel launched its savage offensive on Gaza on October 7, UNRWA transformed its schools into emergency shelters for families forced to flee their homes. The vast majority of the Gaza’s 2.4 million people have been displaced at least once by Israel’s genocidal war.
The regime's military forces have so far killed more than 41,000 Palestinian across the narrow populated coastal enclave.
