Australia pro-Palestine rally

Australian police have violently clashed with Pro-Palestine protesters outside a military arms convention in the city of Melbourne. Hundreds gathered outside the venue hosting the biennial International Land Defense Exposition, with many chanting pro-Palestine slogans and yelling at delegates attending the conference. Demonstrators then marched through the streets, waving Palestinian flags. The police claim that the protesters hurled bottles, rocks, and horse manure, prompting riot squad officers to use tear gas and pepper spray and fire rubber bullets to disperse the crowd. Dozens were arrested. The protest comes amid heightened tensions over the role of arms manufacturers in sparking global conflicts. About 1,000 firms from 31 countries are expected to attend the event through Friday. The organizers call it Australia's largest defense exposition.
