Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says “faulty intelligence and flawed logic” have once again led the United States and the European troika to impose sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Araghchi said that “once again, US and E3 act on faulty intelligence and flawed logic.”
“Iran has NOT delivered ballistic missiles to Russia. Period.”
His comments came just a day after the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France and Germany - known as the E3 – denounced what they alleged to be “Iran’s export and Russia’s procurement of Iranian ballistic missiles.”
They also moved to “cancel bilateral air services agreements with Iran” and announced that they would work towards imposing sanctions against Iran Air, the country’s national airliner, under the pretext of allegedly interfering in the conflict in Ukraine.
The US has also sanctioned several individuals and entities based in Iran and Russia over Tehran’s alleged drone and missile sales to Russia.
The Iranian foreign minister called the US and the E3 “Sanction addicts”, slamming them for mistaking the problem for the solution.
“Sanction addicts should ask themselves: how is Iran able to make & supposedly sell sophisticated arms? Sanctions r NOT a solution, but part of problem,” Araghchi said.

The European Union also on Monday repeated the same accusation, saying "credible" information provided by allies suggested that Iran has supplied short-range ballistic missiles to Russia to help Moscow wage war in Ukraine and hinted at a "swift" response.
Iran has rejected allegations of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia as baseless and misleading.
On Friday, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s mission to the United Nations declared that the country views any military aid to parties involved in the Ukraine conflict, which would exacerbate harm to lives and infrastructure in Ukraine, as inhumane.
Therefore, not only does it not do so, but also invites other countries to stop sending weapons to the parties involved in the conflict, the mission stated.
