Iran’s president is leading a high-ranking delegation to Baghdad at the invitation of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. The three-day visit is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and will include the signing of key documents on cooperation and security. Before the visit, he called Iraq a brotherly country, highlighting its role as an important economic, political, and social partner of Iran. Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit the holy shrines in the cities of Najaf and Karbala. His trip also includes stopovers in Basra as well as the Kurdish cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
