US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Tens of Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli strike on the al-Mawasi area, south of the Gaza Strip. In the attack, some 60 Palestinians have been injured and there are entire families that are unaccounted for. Israel targeted at least 20 tents belonging to the displaced people at al-Mawasi near the southern city of Khan Yunis. The area had been declared by the regime itself as a "humanitarian safe zone." Also at least 5 Palestinians have been killed at a food stall in the east of Gaza City. Israeli strikes elsewhere in the Gaza strip have also claimed a dozen of lives including in Rafah, Jabalia and Nuseirat refugee camps. The latest killings bring the death toll from the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 7 to over 41,000. Also nearly 95,000 have also been injured.

Al-Mawasi attack slammed

Iran has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s deadly attack on the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in southern Gaza strip. Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, stated the continuation of such heinous crimes are undeniable examples of threats to international peace and security, genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity. Mentioning the use of bunker-buster bombs in the attack, he said the Israeli regime has again demonstrated disregard for legal and international norms as well as ethical principles. Hamas has also slammed the attack as another war crime backed by the U-S. The movement says the brutal targeting of civilians in an area declared safe by Israel once again proves the Nazi policies of the regime vis-a-vis Palestinians. Turkey has also condemned the Al Mawasi attack as another Israeli war crime.

Ukraine-Russia war

Now, to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Moscow says a large number of Ukrainian drones have attacked residential areas near the capital overnight, killing at least one woman. Peskov also said any negotiation is improbable when Ukrainian troops remain in Russia's Kursk region. Meanwhile Moscow has reported new gains in eastern Ukraine where Russian forces have captured four more villages. The two neighbors have been engaged in tit-for-tat cross-border attacks since Ukrainian forces, in a surprise move, crossed into Russia's Kursk region on August 6th. UK foreign secretary David Lammy has announced he and his U-S counterpart Antony Blinken will make a joint visit to Ukraine later this week to reaffirm their support for the country. The UK has already pledged a 214,000,000 $ package of air defense missiles for Kiev while the U-S has provided billions of dollars worth of arms.
