Iran’s Ali Pirouj wins silver in men's javelin throw F13 and Seyed Aliasghar Javanmardi bags bronze in men's shot put F35 at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
Pirouj bagged silver on Thursday night in the men's javelin throw during the F13 Class Javelin Throwing Competition at the Paris Paralympics 2024 with the personal best of 69.74 meters throw, securing the 19th medal for Iran.
The competition was held at the Stade de France Stadium in the north of Paris with the presence of 8 athletes, of which Iran had two representatives. Pirouj finished second and won the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Javanmardi won a bronze medal bronze in men's shot put F35 at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
He recorded a record of 15.84 in his first throw, dropped to 15.60 in the second throw, made a mistake in the third and fourth throw, and reached the limit of 15.73 in the fifth throw. He also made a mistake in the sixth throw.

At the end of the weight-throw competition, Khusniddin Norbekov of Uzbekistan broke the Paralympic record with a score of 16.82 and won the gold medal. Hernán Emanuel Urra of Argentina seized the silver with 16.11.
Iran has sent 65 athletes in 10 sports to the Games.
