Iran’s Hassan Bajoulvand has clinched silver in the men’s discus throw F11 event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, taking the Islamic Republic’s medal tally in the competition to 15.
As part of the ongoing Paralympic Games, the F11 class discus throw competition took place at the Stade de France on Thursday and Iranian athlete Hasan Bajoulvand, 39, competed against his rivals.
Bajoulvand, with near-total visual impairment, achieved a distance of 37.24 meters on his first throw, 41.75 meters on his second, and 36.89 meters on his third. He fouled on his fourth attempt, recorded 39.26 meters on his fifth, and reached 40.44 meters on his sixth. His best throw of 41.75 meters earned him the silver medal.

At the end of the F11 class discus throw competition at the Paralympic Games, Oney Tapia, 48, of Italy secured the gold medal with a throw of 41.92 meters. Spain’s Álvaro del Amo Cano, 34, won the bronze with a distance of 39.6 meters.
