US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More Palestinians are falling victim to the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, as unrelenting air and artillery strikes continue to pound the blockaded territory. In central Gaza, Israeli strikes hit two homes, killing at least three Palestinians, including two children, in Deir al-Balah. Also in central Gaza, at least four people were killed following an airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp. In al-Zwaida area, an airstrike targeted a vehicle, killing three civilians. A journalist and his sister were killed after an Israeli strike targeted a residential building in central Gaza’s al-Nuseirat refugee camp. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says over 200 of its employees have been killed in Gaza. At least 85 Palestinians were killed in the regime’s strikes in a single day. The Israeli genocide has so far claimed the lives of more than 40,500 Palestinians and injured nearly 94,000 others.
Israel West Bank incursion
Israeli forces press ahead with their violent raids into several towns across the occupied West Bank. The regime’s latest incursion has been described as its largest military aggression against the Palestinian territories since 2002. In Jenin, another Palestinian was killed during the regime’s raid. In Tulkarm, the regime’s forces opened fire on Palestinians in the Nur Shams refugee camp, killing a 62-year-old Palestinian man. In Tubas, Israeli forces blew up a mosque inside Al-Fara'a camp and clashed with Palestinians there. In Nablus, a 45-year-old Palestinian was injured by Israeli forces during confrontations in the Old Askar camp. Armed clashes also broke out after Israeli troopers besieged Balata refugee camp. In al-Quds, Israeli forces threw tear gas canisters into Palestinian homes. Similar clashes were reported in Ramallah where a Palestinian was injured after Israeli soldiers opened fire on him in Beit Rima. Over a dozen Palestinians have already been killed across the West Bank since the regime began its latest military incursion on Wednesday.
Polio in Gaza
A senior Hamas official has rejected the Israeli prime minister’s plan to designate specific areas within Gaza for polio vaccination. Izzat Al-Rishq said Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks were a blatant deceit aimed at continuing the genocide and systematic killing of the Palestinian people, especially children. He said Israel’s plan is not an agreement to a humanitarian truce requested by the international community. The Hamas official called on the United Nations and the international community to exert all possible pressure on Netanyahu to accept a comprehensive humanitarian truce and clear the way for the vaccination of all children in Gaza. Rishq said people of Gaza are living through a real tragedy due to the spread of diseases and epidemics caused by Israel’s continued aggression and genocide. Polio, a highly-infectious disease, has returned to Gaza after 25 years, with the first case being confirmed in an unvaccinated child earlier this month. International bodies blame the outbreak of polio on the destruction of Gaza’s water and wastewater treatment facilities by Israeli forces.
