The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, have claimed responsibility for an attack on the occupying Israeli forces in northern Gaza Strip.
The armed wing of Hamas announced in a statement on Sunday that the Palestinian fighters had launched a successful operation in northern Gaza, inflicting casualties on the Israelis.
Qassam said a minefield was prepared to target Israeli armored vehicles and it detonated in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, after which military helicopters arrived to transport casualties.
It added that its snipers also shot an Israeli soldier near the University College of Applied Sciences, south of the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City.
The Qassam Brigades spokesman said, "All fronts will remain burning and escalating in the face of the enemy as long as the aggression against our people continues."
Israel has killed over 40,300 Palestinians, mostly children and women, in Gaza since October.
The devastating strikes by the Israeli military have left much of Gaza in ruins as the Israeli forces blockade of food, clean water and medicine to Gaza.
The Israeli leaders are wanted for genocide with the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others linked to the genocidal campaign in Gaza.
