Hiroshima and Nagasaki

In August 1945, the United States carried out one of the cruelest actions ever committed against humanity by any empire: it dropped nuclear bombs on the Japanese towns of Hiroshima (August 6) and Nagasaki (August 9), instantly killing approximately 250,000 people in both locations.
