Iran says made breakthrough in defense capabilities in parallel with missile, drone power

Brigadier General Ali Shadmani, deputy coordinator of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, speaks on the sidelines of the Army 2024 International Military-Technical Forum in Patriot Park outside the Russian capital, Moscow, on Tuesday.

A high-ranking Iranian military commander has praised various types of military gear entirely designed and manufactured by the country’s technicians, stressing that the munitions are on par with the unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles that the Islamic Republic is known for worldwide.

Brigadier General Ali Shadmani, deputy coordinator of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the comments on the sidelines of the Army 2024 International Military-Technical Forum in Patriot Park outside the Russian capital, Moscow, on Tuesday.

“Our drones are world-famous. Therefore any visitor [who comes to our pavilion] would like to see our drones first and our missiles of course. The situation is favorable for the presentation of our drones, whilst many of the Iranian military achievements are on par with the aircraft,” the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commander said.

Shadmani noted that Iran’s defense industry has achieved great success in various fields, including cyberwarfare as well as production of airborne and seaborne systems.

Iran has also made outstanding achievements in the field of telecommunications, laser technology and artificial intelligence, the high-profile commander pointed out.

The IRGC commander underlined that the country’s achievements in the defense industry are on the path of evolution.

Mohajer-10

Iran's Defense Ministry is currently showcasing Mohajer-10 (Immigrant-10) combat drone, as well as advanced homegrown air defense and radar systems at the Army 2024 International Military-Technical Forum.

Other Iranian products on display at the exhibition, which runs from August 12 to 14, include electronic warfare (EW) systems, airborne and seaborne missile defense systems, ballistic missiles as well as batteries for industrial and military applications.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made substantial headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.
