Two Israeli settlers have been killed and three others injured in an alleged stabbing attack near Tel Aviv, with Palestinian resistance groups praising the retaliatory operation as a “legitimate response” to the occupying regime’s months-long genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Israeli media reported that the incident occurred on Sunday morning in three different locations within a 500-meter distance on Moshe Dayan Street in the Holon area, south of Tel Aviv.
The attacker was identified as Ammar Rizq Awda, a 34-year-old Palestinian from the occupied West Bank city of Salfit, who was shot and seriously injured by the regime’s police force after the stabbing operation.
Awda was transferred to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where his death was declared a short while later.

The Popular Resistance Committees, which is a coalition of a number of Palestinian resistance groups, commended in a brief statement the heroic operation in Holon as a significant blow to Israel’s security and military apparatus, which proves the fragility of the occupying entity against the will of brave resistance fighters.
“The Holon resistance operation is a practical response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy, the ongoing genocide, and the daily killings of our Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza,” the statement said.
“The daily genocidal crimes committed by the extremist and fascist … Zionist entity must be met with more painful operations to deter these criminal murderers.”
The Palestinian resistance groups called on the “resistant youth to carry out more strikes and escalate the resistance in all its forms and in all areas of confrontation with the criminal Zionist enemy.”
'Natural and legitimate response'
The Gaza-based resistance movements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad also praised the stabbing operation in Holon as a "natural and legitimate response" to the Israeli onslaught on Gaza over the past months.
"The heroic stabbing operation in the Holon area, in the center of Tel Aviv, is a natural response to the ongoing fascist occupation crimes against our Palestinian people, from the brutal genocide in the Gaza Strip against defenseless civilians to escalating and dangerous violations in the West Bank," Hamas said in a statement.
"We call on our people and our revolutionary youth in the West Bank and Al-Quds to continue and escalate the uprising against the fascist army of occupation and its settlers, in every part of our Palestinian land."
The Islamic Jihad said the operation was a "natural and legitimate response to the crimes of the entity and the ongoing war of genocide and massacres committed against our people, the latest of which was the bombing of displaced people's tents inside hospitals in the Gaza Strip."
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said five civilians were killed and over 16 others wounded on Sunday morning when Israeli drones targeted tents housing displaced persons near the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.
Israel unleashed its genocidal war on Gaza after a surprise Palestinian operation that came in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
However, 10 months into the large-scale foray, Tel Aviv has failed to achieve its objectives in the besieged territory despite killing at least 39,550 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 91,280 others.
