A Geneva-based rights group says Israel’s forced displacement orders in the southern parts of the Gaza Strip are part of the regime’s genocidal war that lead Palestinians to “actual death.”
The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a Sunday statement that the military’s forced evacuation orders in the north of Rafah and south of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip “reflect Israel’s persistence in committing the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip for the 295th consecutive day.”
The military ordered the evacuation of several neighborhoods in southern Gaza on Saturday, the latest in a series of such orders that have forced tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians to relocate yet again.
The latest order comes a week after the military issued an evacuation order for eastern parts of Khan Younis before it launched a new ground invasion in the populated town once designated a “safe zone" for the displaced.
The Monitor group said that the regime’s evacuation orders are “in fact forced displacement orders that constitute a crime against humanity according to the Rome Statute.”
The recent forced displacement operation is part of the largest mass forced displacement campaign that “has so far affected about 2,000,000 people in the Gaza Strip, most of them forcibly displaced multiple times,” Euro-Med said.
The rights group has once again reiterated calls for international action to stop the regime’s genocide and all its war crimes in Gaza.
It said the international community needs to take action to protect the civilians in Gaza and ensure Israel’s compliance with international law and the International Court of Justice’s orders.
Israel launched its genocidal war in Gaza on October 7. According to Gaza's health ministry, the military has so far killed more than 39,250 Palestinians in the besieged territory.
