Firefighters battle to control wildfires in Oregon

US firefighters continue to battle smoke and flames in the state of Oregon, including at Lone Rock which has grown into a megafire.

The US Interagency Fire Center defines a megafire as a wildfire that burns more than 100,000 acres of land. A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is currently in place above the Lone Rock Fire area.

Oregon State Fire Department confirmed date and location of the footage with Reuters.

The 2024 wildfire season so far has burned 618,741 acres in Oregon, according to the State of Oregon Fires and Hotspots Dashboard.
