The Islamic Resistance in Iraq says it has conducted a new anti-Israeli operation, hitting one of the regime’s vital targets in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement issued on its Telegram channel Sunday afternoon, the group, which is an umbrella for Iraq’s anti-terror fighters, said it has launched a drone strike on a vital Israeli target in the occupied port city of Umm al-Rashrash, also known as Eilat.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said the operation came “in support of our people in Palestine, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.”

It also vowed that “operations to strike the enemy's strongholds” will continue “with increasing intensity.”

The operation came about a week after the Iraqi resistance fighters launched separate missile and drone strikes against strategic targets in different parts of the 1948 Israeli-occupied territories.

Back then, the group said it had attacked the port cities of Eilat and Haifa with kamikaze drones and sophisticated Arqab cruise missiles.

During past months, the Iraqi resistance has launched multiple attacks on Israel’s vital targets both in Eilat and Haifa, including the latter’s airport and oil refinery.

It has also launched joint operations along with Yemeni forces against Israeli ports and Israel-linked ships since the regime’s brutal onslaught started on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Iraqi resistance's latest attack on Eilat came after a drone strike by Yemeni forces on Friday hit an area near a US consular facility in Tel Aviv, killing one Israeli settler and injuring 10 others, as the regime’s air defenses failed to intercept the drone.

In retaliation, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes against fuel storage facilities in Yemen's strategic western province of Hudaydah, leaving six civilians dead and nearly 90 others injured.

Earlier on Sunday, the leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, Sayyed Abdel-Malik al-Houthi, warned Israel that Yemen is more capable than ever of dealing blows to the occupying regime.

The Ansarullah chief added that “Yemeni people are pleased to be in direct confrontation with the Israeli enemy, and they are steadfast and brave people,” stressing that Israel cannot stop Yemen’s support for Gaza.

The Ansarullah leader emphasized that the US and UK have failed to stop or even weaken Yemen’s operations in support of Gaza, vowing to expand the scope of the country's operations as the genocidal war in Gaza continues.

Yemenis have reaffirmed their support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until Israel's ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed nearly 39,000 people and wounded about 90,000 others, come to an end.
